Following a well-attended Spring concert, rehearsals are almost complete for our Summer concert, to be held on Sunday 21 June at All Saints' Church, Lovelace Road, SE21 8JY, starting at 6.30pm.

The programme comprises Sterndale Bennett's overture The Naiades, Percy Young's Piano Concerto (soloist Michael Jones), Bernard Jupp's arrangement of National Folk Songs, and Peter Ilych Tchaikovsky's Suite No 1.

Admission is free, but donations to running expenses and charity are gratefully accepted.

In the weeks following the concert, we are holding two run-through rehearsals, both open to non-members, one on Monday 6 July for strings, the other on Monday 13 July for classical wind ensemble (four woodwind and horn). Both will be conducted by our highly-experienced conductor, and the string rehearsal will also be led by our leader, a string quartet prizewinner. Both rehearsals will play music typical of the genre.

Both events are in our usual venue St Bartholomew's Church Hall, 159 Ellison Road, SW16 5DE, starting at 7.45pm. New-comers will be particularly welcome. There is no charge for either event.
